ACT is a group of multidisciplinary practitioners deeply concerned about the direction of India’s future, particularly with respect to the capacity of its democratic, economic and environmental resource fundamentals to ensure the health, happiness, prosperity, and freedoms that its Constitution promises to its citizens.
Specific concerns for our group follow from our shared desire to help redesign and create the knowledge assets, policies and actions that can ensure and nurture universal human satisfaction and fulfillment. At the broader, societal level, these include an unequivocal commitment to diversity, equity, social justice and environmental resilience. At the operational community or individual level, they aim to identify the steps needed to enable ALL citizens to have access to the basic human needs -- food, water, energy, shelter, education and knowledge, connectivity and wellbeing and health care -- and to be able to lead secure, aspirational and fulfilling lives, now and for the future.
ACT, whose members are located in different cities in different continents but share a common dedication to these concerns, has been meeting regularly every week over the past year, exchanging and building on ideas ranging from the strategic ones above to the immediate ones such as the responses needed to deal with the human, social and economic impacts of the current Covid pandemic.
